Paul Adam

Paul Adam was very meticulous in his portrayal of himself. He gave it a great deal of thought before he  committed it in blue pencil, then regular pencil, then finally ink. I felt this was a very strong caricature of him.

Scott Kurtz

This is the creator of PvP.

On his days off, he stands in for Galactus.

Kris Straub

The creator of Starslip Crisis, Kris Straub, seem to have a little difficulty when it comes to drawing himself. After some deliberation, he came up with this.

The noose was an afterthought.

Joe Eisma

Joe Eisma draws one of my favorite comic books, The Dummy’s Guide to Danger. You’ll notice that the sketch above is almost consistent to the one on his homepage.

Ryan Dunlavey

Ryan Dunlavey, the other half of the duo, who created Action Philosophers, where the rumination of life just became sexier, took the time out to do this sketch.

I’m not sure which is funnier – that he’s a robot that’s doomed to sketch for all time or that he wrote the wrong year.

John Cboins

John Cboins started out as a video game concept artist and now he does the art for one of Shadowline Comics lineup, Graveslinger, which consisted of two of my favorite things, the Wild West and zombies. He also did a poster, which I ought,  about love and lost involving Bert and Ernie.

Colleen AF Venable

Colleen AF Venable does these absurdist comic called Fluff in Brooklyn, where she and her friends dressed up and take photographs of themselves. She has nicely-shaped calves, one of which now sports a connect-the-dots tattoo, which forms a giraffe. I think she has a giraffe fetish.

She said she dabbles in the doodle and presented me with this sketch of herself. I like the little captions. The cape and ghooost legs are also a nice touch.

Kristian Donaldson

Kristian Donaldson has worked with Brian Wood on Supermarket and several issues of DMZ. He suffered a migraine but managed to do this sketch for me.

It’s not evident but he added some blemishes on his face.

Brian Wood

Brian Wood has illustrated from t-shirts to video game designs at Rockstar Games. He currently writes Northlanders, DMZ and plans to release another six issue miniseries of stories entitled DEMO Volume 2.

Wood stated that he was feeling a little tired when he made that sketch.
